The Department of Chemistry and Physics at Augusta University is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position in physical chemistry beginning in the fall of 2019, rank commensurate with experience.

The successful candidate would be expected to teach undergraduate physical chemistry (lecture and lab) and may be assigned other teaching responsibilities based upon expertise, program needs, and interest.

The department hosts an ACS Approved undergraduate chemistry program and is seeking approval for an MS in Biomolecular Science as our first graduate program. The department also houses the Chemical and Biomolecular Analysis Facility which includes LCMS, 500 MHz NMR, Jasco dichrometer, ICP-OES, and XRD as key instrumentation in the core. Augusta University was formed in 2013 from the consolidation of Augusta State University, a primarily undergraduate institution, with Georgia Health Sciences University, a professional school with substantial biomedical research, to create a comprehensive research university.

A PhD in physical chemistry or a closely-related field is required, postdoctoral experience highly preferred. Applicants must have a demonstrated ability for success in research and have the potential to establish a nationally recognized, funded and robust research program. Research area is open.
