Job Summary


This Student Advisement Support provides a broad range of support activities that assist students with their educational and career planning.


Duties & Responsibilities


•Coordinates academic and career advisement for students
•Provides assistance with admission, assessment and registration issues
•Assists with clarifying student career and academic goals
•Assists with resolving student advisement issues
•Assists students with completion of various forms necessary to meet educational goals
•Follows up with students and maintains relevant record keeping and tracking
•Participates in scheduled training activities and workshops
•Performs other duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements


•Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in a relevant field
•All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
•Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
•Experience working with students in an academic setting
•Experience working with a student information system
•Effective communication skills both orally and in writing
•Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
•Ability to establish and maintain effective public relations
•Ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, and weekends
•Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
