Job Summary

The Part-Time Private Branch Exchange (PBX), Operator provides telephone assistance to the public.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Answers all incoming calls to the campus
  • Transfers external and internal calls to the appropriate department and/ or employee
  • Provides general information about registration deadlines
  • Maintains a daily record of all incoming calls to the campus
  • Relieves Public Safety Dispatchers when necessary
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from a regionally accredited institution
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Working knowledge of telephone systems
  • Ability to answer multiple calls at the same time
  • Possess computer and Microsoft Office application skills
  • Possess excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to work independently and use time management skills in an intensely high volume office environment
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments
  • Ability to effectively interact well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, staff, and diverse local community
