Job Summary


The Part-Time Parking Lot Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of designated parking attendants' personnel and ensuring efficient daily operations of parking facilities.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Oversees the work of parking lot attendants to prevent traffic jams inside the parking area
  • Assigns parking lot attendants to designated parking lot facilities within the campus
  • Provides routine information with regards to parking lot, gates and arm gates status
  • Monitors customer service in all parking lot facilities
  • Uses two-way radio to report or request assistance and information as necessary
  • Checks for proper identification and permits of vehicles entering the parking area
  • Keeps the traffic flow moving to avoid traffic delays
  • Monitors the pedestrian traffic entering and exiting the parking area to prevent unauthorized use of parking area users
  • Ensures that cars are legally parked within the marked spaces and that traffic is flowing in the specified direction
  • Provides foot or vehicular patrol to safeguard the parking area and enforce traffic rules and regulations
  • Provides information and direction to people in the area
  • Issues citations, maintains records, reports and files
  • Performs other duties as assigned



Minimum Requirements


  • High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of related experience in public safety with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of parking and traffic control practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of campus parking lots/areas, building locations and general campus layout
  • Possess strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Possess good public relations and problem solving skills
  • Ability to direct traffic
  • Knowledge of two way radio communication equipment
  • Ability to communicate in English language
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints
  • Possess good writing and oral skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend assignments
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
