Job Summary


The School of Justice (SOJ) Accreditation Coordinator provides collaborative leadership for the SOJ regional and specialized program accreditation efforts including comprehensive college-wide coordination of tasks related to The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) and Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) reaffirmation, Substantive Change, Quality Enhancement Plan, periodic reports, as well as, monitoring, tracking and providing support for program accreditations.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Maintains current knowledge of CALEA and FDLE principles of accreditation
  • Provides consultation to appropriate administrators regarding CALEA and FDLE accreditation
  • Recommends development and modification of policies and procedures as the pertain to CALEA and FDLE
  • Leads comprehensive CALEA and FDLE reaffirmation efforts
  • Works with other offices college-wide to ensure compliance with regional and program accreditation requirements
  • Develops and maintains police and corrections academy schedules
  • Advises students that are transitioning from the academies to the academic programs
  • Develops new programs as requested by industry leaders
  • Works with Center for Institutional and Organizational Learning (CIOL) to develop instructor workshops that are cutting edge and meet the needs of the law enforcement community
  • Performs other duties as assigned



Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or related Public Safety field from a regionally accredited institution and three (3) years of related work experience
  • All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office software and specific computer programs related to area of responsibility
  • Possess proven expertise in planning and executing operational plans, managing projects, programs and budgeting
  • Knowledge of accreditation and state standards
  • Possesses excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, administrators and the general public using tact, poise, patience and courtesy
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
