Job Summary

The Part-Time Equipment Room Specialist supports School of Entertainment, Design and Technology (SEDT) academic programs by providing technical equipment to faculty and students that is used for classes and in-field productions. The position monitors usage and care of video and audio equipment and provides users with tutorials.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Checks production equipment in/out and tracks usage by faculty and students
  • Provides video and audio equipment for classes and in-field projects
  • Inspects condition of returned equipment
  • Ensures that the equipment room is maintained in organized and clean condition
  • Assists with maintaining database of student borrowing
  • Runs reports on equipment lending
  • Works with respective departments to secure late returns
  • Trains faculty and students on the proper use and care of production equipment
  • Maintains up-to-date inventory including cameras, sound recorders, lights, microphones, etc.
  • Oversees and guides part-time staff and student assistants
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited institution and (2) two years of related experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Ability to work within well established procedures, guidelines, and follow directions
  • Ability to accurately deal with difficult situations and or instructions
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office software and specific programs related to area of responsibility
  • Ability to work in a team setting and interact with people effectively and courteously
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assigned hours
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
