Job Summary


The position provides instructional coaching to assist students with reading and writing for academic and career purposes. This is a temporary position.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Assists students in understanding concepts and content related to reading and writing
  • Serve as a resource to students and faculty to reinforce skills used in the academic setting
  • Provides guidance to students in using learning resources
  • Assist in the operation of The Learning Spot lab
  • Monitors students progress
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge within field of study area skills
  • Performs other duties as assigned



Minimum Requirements


  • Associates degree and four (4) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Possess detail-oriented and highly organized skills
  • Knowledge of business and educational software applications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other related computer programs
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assigned hours
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
