Depending on Qualifications
Degree and Area of Specialization:
Master's degree in Education, Public Policy or related field or Bachelor's degree plus 7-10 years' experience in a similar role.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
* Knowledge of Federal and State policies and compliance standards for pre-K-12 systems, specifically related to standards, assessments and accommodations.
* Familiarity with the US Department of Education Title I, II, and III guidelines.
* Understanding of the characteristics and needs of major education audiences such as teachers, state education officials, local education officials, or Federal-level education policy makers.
* Experience in data analysis and reporting.
* Experience in project management.
* Experience working in a State Education Agency (SEA) and/or Local Education Agency (LEA).
License or certificate:
WIDA, an organization within the University of Wisconsin-Madison Wisconsin Center for Education Research, provides trusted tools and resources for educators of language learners Pre-K through Grade 12 (wida.wisc.edu). Under the direction of the Director of Client Relations, this position is responsible for overseeing a team of State Relations Specialists, maintaining relationships with member state education agencies, and collaborating within WIDA to ensure the clients' feedback is part consortium products and services. The ideal candidate will come from an education background, whether that be education policy work, consulting to clients in education, or working as an educator or education administrator.
