Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

- 5 or more years of work experience in the field of continuing education professional development
- Successful record of independently managing events, preferably in continuing education
- Successful experience managing projects with deadlines and budget parameters, preferably in event management or continuing education
- Experience working independently and as a member of a team
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of the national Certified Public Manager? (CPM) Certification Program

License or certificate:

Position Summary:

We are seeking an individual to join our Leadership, Management and Other Workplace Skills (LMOWS) team in the Division of Continuing Studies (DCS) at UW-Madison. The LMOWS team provides more than 150 professional development programs per year in the areas of leadership, management and business development. The Division is especially interested in qualified candidates who will contribute to diversity within our workforce.

The Program Manager for the Certified Public Manager? (CPM) program will manage the planning and delivery of all programs that are part of the CPM portfolio (approx. 90 per year). This includes course selection and scheduling, hiring instructors, marketing and other program logistics. The Program Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of the program. The Program Manager will be the first point of contact for all learner inquiries.
