Minimum $70,000 ANNUAL (12 months)

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Ph.D. degree required in education, psychology, linguistics, or other relevant field.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

* Extensive working knowledge of English language development (ELD) assessments and assessment related products, especially with WIDA assessments and assessment products.
* Firm understanding of psychometric and assessment validation research and analysis.
* Experience conducting and/or supporting research on ELD assessments.
* Experience conducting and/or supporting research using sensitive educational assessment data.
* Familiarity with relevant software packages such as: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, WINSTEPs, SAS, R, etc.
* Experience working with state educational agency (SEA) assessment and Title III staff as it relates to ELD standards, assessments and accountability.
* Experience organizing and facilitating meetings with SEA assessment and Title III staffs.
* Flexibility with shifting tasks and timelines based on varying program needs.

Position Summary:

WIDA, an organization within the University of Wisconsin-Madison Wisconsin Center for Education Research, provides trusted tools and resources for educators of language learners Pre-K through Grade 12 (wida.wisc.edu). This position will be responsible for supporting the technical validation research needs associated with WIDA assessments to include ACCESS for ELLs, WIDA Screener, Alternate ACCESS, WIDA MODEL, and other assessments as assigned.

This position will also coordinate all Quality Control efforts related to the annual operational administration of ACCESS, and will lead the Score Reporting Quality Control. This candidate should have extensive experience with WIDA assessments, with collaborating with WIDA board members, and with meaningfully interacting with WIDA's vendors especially the Center for Applied Linguistics. This candidate should also have good research and writing skills, especially in the areas of assessment research.

Given the scope of work for this role, it is required that the candidate work remotely and live near our external partners since this position works so closely with these partners. These partners are located in Minnesota and Washington D.C.
