Degree and Area of Specialization:

PhD in mathematics required.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

A minimum of five years' professional experience in the following:
1. Teaching
2. Instructional supervision
3. Program development
4. Graduate student professional development

Preferred Requirements:
-Ability to initiate and complete projects on time with available resources and minimal direction.
-Excellent organizational and management skills essential.
-Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Position Summary:

This position serves as the Associate Director for the Mathematics Department's Instructional Programs. The role of the Instructional Excellence Center is to help the department provide high quality, innovative, often technology enhanced instruction for all undergraduate students taking the departmental "service courses" (typically courses number 400 or below). Thus the center coordinates the various service course programs and provides coordinated instructional development for graduate students who have instructional appointments in those courses.
