Position Summary: This position will provide pro-active counsel and apply advanced knowledge to employee relations activities; model critical thinking for complex problems and serve as a lead consultant in developing creative solutions for departments, managers and employees in all E&MR related issues; and demonstrate a high level of integrity and in-depth knowledge to ensure compliance with university, state and federal laws. This position is expected to demonstrate a high degree of independent decision-making, judgement and accountability. This position provides consultation, guidance and advice to employees and all levels of management on a wide-range of employee relations topics affecting SHRA (staff) and EHRA Non-Faculty employees for assigned departments including: *Disciplinary actions and involuntary separations *Performance management *Mediation and conflict/resolution *Employee conduct issues *Leave related issues (i.e. FMLA and Disability) in partnership with Benefits and Leave Administration unit *Absenteeism and work schedule issues *Administrative leave programs (adverse weather, pandemic, and administrative absence). *Consultation on complex workplace issues and work environment concerns *Investigations into employee misconduct *Harassment, discrimination and disability accommodation (in conjunction with University's EO/ADA Officer) This position analyzes client issues and provides guidance based on interpretation of University policies and applicable State and Federal laws. This position is responsible for ensuring clients are given "real time" advice based on routine, critical, intense, and complex personal and work-related situations. The position is charged with developing, recommending, and facilitating options and strategies in accordance with federal, state and University policies, procedures, statutes and best practices that demonstrate a thorough assessment/analysis of the situation. This Advanced Level Consultant is also expected to have the expertise and experience in developing and delivering well-structured presentations for training both internal and external customers. In this regard, this position is expected to train new E&MR Consultants on a variety of policies and how to present policy information in a training format for campus departments on a variety of issues. Although the primary focus of this position is on E&MR issues related to SHRA employees, consultation may be provided on EHRA faculty and non-faculty issues as well. This position will partner with the E&MR Manager and the Director of EHRA Non-Faculty HR in regard to similar issues related to EHRA Non-Faculty employees.

Education Requirements:

Qualification and Experience: Bachelor's degree and two years of progressively responsible professional human resources management experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions.
