Advertised Job Summary: Supports Foundation Finance Manager in the day to day accounting functions of the Upstate Foundation office. * Assists with foundation accounting and financial duties. Includes the preparation of financial reports for Board meetings, monthly fund reports for deans, accounts payable processing, monthly and adhoc journal entries, bank account reconciliation and other day to day accounting tasks. * Assists with the reconciliation of asset accounts, revenues, donations and disbursements. Prepares financial reports for review by the Foundation Finance Manager. * Conducts research as directed by the Foundation Manager and or VC for Advancement on various foundation topics. * Assists with the preparation of the Foundation scholarship reports and reconciliation. * Assists in the preparation of the quarterly USC Upstate/ Foundation shared services report and reconciliation. * Provides support and assistance with the investment accounts held with financial institutions. * Assists Foundation manager with the annual audit and tax return filing. Conducts research and responds to inquiries. * Provides direction, guidance and training on processes and practices to student support staff. Supports the Upstate Budget Office in the oversight of the Special Events and Housing functions along and other Special Projects as assigned. Special Events (E fund account) . * Review monthly reports for accuracy and completeness. Coordinate with Special Events staff to address variances. * Process monthly journal entries. * Reconcile monthly reports (invoice, receivable, advance payments). * Review Special Events E fund budget; provide monthly status reports. * Provide research support and accounting assistance to Special Events staff on issues relating to their business model. Housing Budget Oversight. * General oversight and reconciliation of all Odyssey data uploaded to Banner and posted to the general ledger. * Work with Bursar to reconcile data, ensuring that information is accurate and complete. * Support Housing staff in the preparation and upload of their annual operating budget. * Review monthly transactions; provide ongoing analysis and monthly and adhoc reports. Support the Budget Director in any special projects as assigned. Including but not limited to: * Preparation of annual budget schedules. * Preparation of year-end reports. * Preparation of ad-hoc analyses and updating historical reports. * Review Monitor monthly deposit schedules; ensure that funds are deposited into correct accounts; communicate with departments as needed to ensure that reports are timely and complete.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and 2 years related experience. Successful background check is required.
