Patient Relations Assistant/UKHC

Job description



The Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences Patient Relations Assistant is the initial face of the department, providing the initial interaction with patients.

We expect that all persons will be treated with respect and dignity in a courteous manner, anticipating and fulfilling patient needs while respecting their privacy. We expect our staff to provide care in support of our goal to be a preferred patient care provider.

The Patient Relations Assistant is expected to provide excellent customer service, managing patient wait time expectations and resolving patient complaints in a positive manner. The Patient Relations Assistant will be proficient in patient registration and scheduling and knowledge of the tools used in registration, including ensuring patient insurance eligibility.

This position will also be HIPAA compliant and demonstrate proficiency in patient consents and management of medical records. People who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where customer service is top priority will excel in the Department of Ophthalmology.
