Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking a Messaging Systems Engineer III with extensive experience working with, and administration of, Microsoft's Active Directory, Azure and the Office 365 suite. This position will include administration of on premises Active Directory, Exchange online email, Data Loss Prevention, Microsoft Cloud App Security, SharePoint online administration, Intune, Office 365 security and compliance, Skype for Business on premise and online, Teams and other Office 365 products in collaboration with other members of the Messaging & Directories team.
In addition, this position will be primarily responsible for building programs to automate team workloads. This will be facilitated through data aggregation and monitoring platforms, specifically Splunk, for the creation of dashboards and workflows from Splunk data. Building workflows to generate service tickets in the university's Service Now system would be a plus. This person should have an in-depth knowledge of PowerShell and a fundamental understanding of programming methodologies and database queries.
The successful candidate will demonstrate good communication skills with a team-oriented focus and provide tier 3 and some tier 2 support for ITS incidents.

    Research

    In fiscal year 2016, the University of Kentucky was awarded $316.5 million in external grants and contracts.
