Job Summary:

The Employer Relations and Development (ERD) team establishes and enhances employer relationships across industries and in multiple geographic locations to connect talented UChicago students with leading organizations for job outcomes and experiential education opportunities.

ERD staff each manage a portfolio of employers within assigned industries (i.e finance; STEM; journalism, arts, media; law; health professions; etc.) to administer recruiting services and assist employers in the successful hiring of UChicago students. A few of our key recruiting programs include:

• The University's premiere Jeff Metcalf Internship Program that places students into 2,500+ paid substantive opportunities in the academic year
• A robust on-campus recruiting program that attracts 400+ employer partners each year to host 150+ information sessions and networking events and 2,500+ on-campus interviews and coffee chats
• Two annual careers fairs that attract 180+ employers and over 1,000+ students at each fair
• Recruiting forums, treks, job shadowing, and other experiential education opportunities that require employer participation

The Recruiting Coordinator will play a key role in the successful administration of these recruiting programs, with an emphasis on a keen attention to detail and a commitment to superior customer service. This role provides critical support to all Employer Relations & Development team members. This position reports to the Associate Director, Employer Relations & Development.

Responsibilities:

• ERD operations support(35%): Screen and approve new listings for internships and full-time positions on the University job board. Identify new employer contacts for the University and support employer development strategies. Support Employer Relations & Development team by updating Handshake and creating on-campus events and interview schedules. Collect data on student career outcomes (including job offers, internship placements, etc.). Approve and manage all employer event and interview requests and audit event calendars. Produce reports and prepare data on student placement statistics, employer registration, and system usage. Collaborate with colleagues to create and administer targeted programming to make students successful in their job/internship searches. Partner with employers, alumni, student groups, and other university staff to prepare these programs. Provide advising support by review student resumes, cover letters, and job applications.

• Outcomes and data tracking (20%): Collect data on student career outcomes including job offers, internship placements, etc. utilizing Salesforce, Handshake, and other data management trackers. Play an active role in obtaining hiring data from employers. Responsible for weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting on employer relations and development efforts both within assigned portfolios, as well as overall industry trends, employer engagement, and the Jeff Metcalf Internship Program. Proactively track placement data and employer and stakeholder engagement information. Contribute to annual outcomes reports and develop a working knowledge of key initiatives and priorities that contribute to student success. Run reports and prepare data on student placement statistics, employer registration, and system usage.

• Event planning and on-campus recruiting logistics (20%): Provide critical support to ERD team to ensure that employers receive best-in-class support when they recruit UChicago students; duties include, but are not limited to, supporting the team in completing room reservations for all employer-hosted events, managing interview schedules, student and employer communication, invoicing and payment details for recruiting events, administering student stipends, etc.

• Employer relations (15%): Assist in the management and execution of programs including the Summer on the Cuyahoga internship program and in developing key employer relationships in key geographic locations and industries like California, Florida, Philadelphia, Far East Asia, etc. Manage a small portfolio of employer partners and create incremental opportunities for the Metcalf Program.

• Other duties as assigned (5%)
