Job Information

Job Summary:

The Research Assistant will assist lab members in preparing and conducting experiments, within the Alenghat laboratory.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow established procedures or protocols, providing assistance with research projects, performing basic laboratory techniques, assisting with maintaining, behavioral testing and/or surgical preparation of animals.
  • Collects and enters data.
  • Maintains and orders supplies.


Competencies:
  • Basic knowledge in relevant scientific field required.
  • Problem-solving skills required.
  • Attention to detail required.
  • Organizational skills required.
  • Ability to learn new research techniques or methods required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Analytical skills preferred.
  • Verbal and written communication skills preferred.


Additional Requirements

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the research being conducted required.
  • One year of research experience or relevant experience preferred.
