The Department of Geological Sciences (DGS) at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or tenured Associate Professor in the broad area of climate science. The successful candidate will develop a high-quality research program that could include weather-climate interactions, climate extremes, biogeochemical cycles, sea level rise, and/or paleoclimate. Approaches involving observations, theory, field experiments, or modeling are all welcome. We are especially interested in candidates who will expand and complement existing strengths in climate science within the department and across the University. The selected candidate will be a committed educator, enthusiastically teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and will be able to interact in teaching and research with colleagues having complimentary interests at The University of Texas at Austin. In addition, the applicant is expected to have a commitment to student supervision and advising of both graduate and undergraduate students in research.
