Description
The School of Architecture at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking to hire a tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor in Architectural History with an emphasis on 19th and/or 20th century architecture and urbanism in the Americas. All scales and approaches to the study of the built environment in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, or South America are welcome, including comparative and interdisciplinary research.

The successful candidate will be able to teach both core classes in Architectural History and innovative seminars for both an undergraduate and graduate audience. He or she may also engage scholars across campus in other programs and departments, such as History, Art History, American Studies, African and African Diaspora Studies, and the Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies.


Qualifications
To qualify for the position, the candidate should hold a Ph.D. in Architecture History and Theory or other disciplines related to the history of the built environment at the time of their appointment.
