This position is responsible for comprehensive Project Management of multiple UNCG Non-Capital Projects, (Less than $300,000 total Project Budget). The purpose and intent of this position is to execute the following duties for assigned projects: (a) act as agent for the department maintaining responsibility for customer relations and customer satisfaction; (b) perform pre-design services for the customer; and, © provide management and oversight of contracted design and construction services. Duties include but are not limited to: writing project related technical scoping documents for customers and consultants; development and management of project schedules and work flow; development and management of project budget summaries; technical review of construction documents; oversight and management of construction activities in the field. Implicit within these enumerated duties are administrative tasks associated with the formation of contracts, processing of payments, and maintenance of project records in digital and hard copy formats.
To meet the organizational unit's business need, this position will manage the project from project initiation through close out, that will eliminate the transfer of projects. This allows continuity with the project manager and the end-user. This position is required to increase resources to accommodate the number of projects being requested.
BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN THE ENGINEERING DISCIPLINE RELATED TO THE AREA OF ASSIGNMENT; OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE. SOME POSITIONS MAY REQUIRE LICENSURE BY THE NORTH CAROLINA BOARD OF EXAMINERS FOR ENGINEERS AND SURVEYORS. ALL DEGREES MUST BE RECEIVED FROM APPROPRIATELY ACCREDITED INSTITUTIONS.
Bachelors degree required: Engineering, Architectural or Interior Architectural
Three to five years' experience in building design and construction project management
Experience in higher education capital projects
