The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) is a licensed independent member of the health care team (under provision of F.S. 464) who assumes advocacy and responsibility for patients, self and others under his/her direct supervision. At least seventy percent of job is direct health care services provided for patient pain management, which includes diagnosis, prevention and treatment of pain, physical assessments, and pain consultations under the supervision of an Pain Service attending. Approximately twenty percent of job responsibility requires direct health care services relating to pain education of patients and health care teams, documentation, interventions and reassessment. Formal performance improvement activities will revolve around inpatient patient satisfaction scores relating to pain management in collaboration with the individual inpatient units as appropriate. A final ten percent job responsibility requires patient outcomes quality measurement and reporting as it's related to pain management.Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program and one (1) year of experience required. Previous experience as an ARNP or a comparable position in a hospital and/or clinical setting. CPR and ACLS certification required. Current/valid Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner license from the state of Florida. Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center for Nurse Practitioners preferred. Minimum of three years of clinical experience as a nurse preferred. Minimum of one year of ARNP experience, preferably in perioperative setting preferred.Submission of all requested information to the Credentials Committee through the University of Miami. Ability to operate all types of hospital equipment necessary to provide safe patient care. Ability to demonstrate interviewing skills in obtaining a health history and other related data. Ability to utilize physical assessment technique in the performance of a proper physical examination.
