The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • New oncology outpatient consults
  • Maintain privileges at assigned hospital(s) rotating with colleagues performing Hematology/Oncology consultations and inpatient care
  • Design and manage patient treatment protocols based upon laboratory results, routine diagnostic and follow-up studies, therapeutic measures, and post-discharge care
  • Interprets and evaluates findings of studies/tests and intervenes accordingly.
  • Conducts or participates in multidisciplinary rounds and ensures appropriate and quality care for patients.
  • Ensure coordination of additional sub-specialty care (as needed) - advises collaborating physician of appropriate information regarding patient care and reports to the physician the actions provided to the patients.
  • Responds to medical and oncologic emergencies in CTU/clinics
  • Perform bone marrow biopsies and other procedures as needed.
  • Actively participant in the Department of Medicine and the Division of Medical Oncology by attending Divisional meetings, tumor board, and Department of Medicine Grand Rounds during your administrative time
