Part-time faculty members are needed to teach college level courses contributing to the Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Counselor Certificate Program. These positions are located at the Alexandria campus. Salary is per credit hour and based on education and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Teach college level human services courses at the Alexandria Campus of Northern Virginia Community College. Create and distribute course syllabus based upon the current college-wide course content summary, keep accurate attendance records, use required text books and resources when necessary, use LMS for course delivery and grade roster, post final grades within 48 hours of final exams, participate in SLO assessment when necessary, adhere to NOVA college policies

Minimum Qualifications

Required Master’s degree in Counseling or Psychology with a minimum of eighteen graduate semester credit hours in the teaching field.

Preferred Qualifications

Have college teaching experience. Experience in substance abuse and/or mental health counseling. Ph.D. in Counseling or Psychology. CSAC Certificate. LPC License.

The selected candidate’s offer is contingent upon the successful completion of an extensive criminal background
