The Department of Speech, Theatre and Dance within the College of Arts & Letters at The University of Tampa is seeking a candidate for a Professor of Instruction in Speech to begin Fall 2019.

The University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially based private institution of 9,200 undergraduate and graduate students. A Ph.D. in Speech and/or Communication is preferred. A terminal degree in a related field with prior speech communication teaching experience will be considered. The ideal candidate will possess a commitment to excellence in teaching with proven experience engaging students in learning beyond the classroom. The focus of the Speech Program is on human and professional communication, and their roots in rhetorical tradition. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching undergraduate courses in Speech for Business and the Professions and Oral Communication. The candidate will be joining a rapidly expanding speech communication program and be expected to support and enhance its growth and momentum. The University of Tampa Department of Speech, Theatre and Dance offers BA degrees in Dance and Theatre, a BFA in Musical Theatre; and minors in Dance, Dance/Theatre, Speech, and Speech/Theatre. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
