Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor of Science degree required.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Prior lab instrumentation experience of 6 months to 1 year, to include experience using HPLC and Agilent ChemStation, GC/MS and LECO ChromaTOF software.
License or certificate:
Seeking a part time individual for lab support to Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center submitters using three HPLC-RIDs and a GC/MS instrument that are in operation 24/7. Must be available to work weekends and evenings.
The Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC) is one of four Department of Energy centers established to conduct fundamental, genomics-based research on microbial and plant systems required to realize the national need for low-cost biofuels. The GLBRC is housed at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with collaborators at Michigan State University and other universities and national labs.
Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to meet and work effectively with others and maintain positive working relationships, highly effective organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
