Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Performs management level or senior staff level engineering work that requires the use of advanced techniques or the modification of standard methods, procedures and techniques to adapt them to architectural/construction problems. Serves as project manager, with full responsibility for assigned projects. Responsible for directing and supervising all phases of work that are required in planning and construction or renovation of moderate to complex facilities to ensure compliance with contract documents, state laws, rules and regulations. Supervision and guidance related to overall project or program objectives.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Master's degree in engineering or engineering related field, or bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering related field and 2 years related experience.

Driver's License required.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Thorough knowledge of applicable architectural/construction theory and practices. Thorough knowledge of latest technical improvements applicable to building design, space allocation, construction techniques, facilities planning, mechanical systems or data collection. Extensive knowledge of rules and regulations involving construction contracts, bidding procedures and procurement. Ability to plan, organize and supervise work of professional and technical personnel. Ability to communicate effectively with management, professional and governmental officials.
