Systems Integration Specialist

Job description

Basic Functions: Responsible for various information systems, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of these systems. Responsible for reviewing, analyzing performance and occasionally modifying systems including developing, testing, debugging and installing to support information systems. Utilize campus-wide information systems and technology resources to enhance administrative capabilities.

Essential Job Functions: * Provide Enterprise level systems support for the University. * Project management of both new implementations, and ongoing upgrade tasks * Work closely with other functional areas within IT to identify, implement, and support effective technology and security solutions. * Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new projects and initiatives to support and enhance the student information system - Ellucian Banner. * Identify opportunities and provide recommendations to user groups that can improve efficiency of processes by leveraging features of current applications and technology. * Provide assistance and advice to users in effective use of campus-wide information systems. * Provide SQL administration in production and test environments for student information systems. * Develop, test, and deliver new and expanded Information System interfaces utilizing sound project management procedures. * Provide information systems technical support. * Work as a team member with other technical staff to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems. * Document system problems and resolutions for future reference. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: * A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in an IT/CIS or related field * At least three years of related experience in information technology field * Development experience, preferably with Enterprise-level applications * Must have a working knowledge of relational databases, web and client-server concepts, and the ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. * Proven project management experience within an information systems environment * Extensive knowledge of data processing, relational databases, and campus-wide information systems. * Strong background and understanding of SQL database design. * Strong technical background, analytical and problem-solving skills, and communication abilities * Self-motivated with the ability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines. * Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high priority customer service, on-call environment with changing priorities. * Must work well independently and with others of varying technical skills levels

Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with Ellucian Banner ERP, or equivalent Higher Ed ERP * Technical experience with systems networking, database structure, web development, report generation and end-user support. * IPaaS implementation experience * Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures, and guidelines to support operational processes. * Integration infrastructure knowledge and experience (SSO, identity management, etc) * Experience within a higher education environment * Project planning and implementation experience * Industry recognized certification in relation to job duties * Evidence of personal focus on refreshing knowledge and learning new skills relevant to the field
