Position Summary: The UNC Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine has a faculty opening for a Clinical Instructor to serve as a Pathologists' Assistant. The successful candidate will supervise a team of four other PAs who currently cover the UNC Main Hospitals' gross room, frozen section room, tissue procurement, and UNC's local community hospital, Hillsborough Hospital. This position will involve PA supervision and scheduling, specimen grossing, specimen photography, and teaching of resident physicians. There are no on-call or weekend responsibilities. As a faculty member in the UNC Dept. of Pathology and Lab Medicine, competitive salary and excellent benefits are provided. CME credits are easily obtained via numerous ongoing lectures and conferences.

Education Requirements: BS or MS degree, PA ASCP certification

Qualification and Experience: Minimum 5 years of service experience, leadership experience or potential, and communication skills are required. Knowledge of CAP guidelines and maintaining gross room procedure manuals is required.
