Position Description - The Perella Department of Finance, which is part of Lehigh University’s College of Business and Economics (CBE), is now accepting applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor. Our department is comprised of well-trained scholars and teachers who embody strong research skills and have published in top-rated refereed finance journals or related fields such as Accounting, Economics, and Management. We are looking for a colleague to join our existing faculty in the fall of 2019. The selected candidate will be required to teach nine credit hours per academic year (i.e. a 3 course teaching load); the teaching load is subject to the CBE Teaching Load Policy. The minimum qualification for an applicant is a graduate degree. Individuals nearing the completing of their Ph.D. degree in Finance or a related field must show evidence that the degree requirements will be substantially completed prior to effective date of employment. Applicants must demonstrate the potential for publishing in top-rated refereed finance journals or related fields (Accounting, Economics) via working papers and presentations. All financial specializations will be considered. This position is expected to complement ongoing developments within the department, the college, and the university.
Our flagship undergraduate program in finance is highly rated and is the largest major in terms of graduating seniors at commencement. The department also benefits from a significant presence on Wall Street through the many alumni that work there. The aim of the department is to further increase the visibility of our finance programs and the college. The department is concurrently also recruiting for an endowed chair full professor position.
