Performs as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Responsible for the evaluation, coordination, and implementation of the nutrition care plan for patients. Provides education and counseling to patients on their nutritional needs. Ensures customer satisfaction and good public relations through the safe and efficient use of resources. Performs duties in compliance with performance improvement plans, TJC, and other licensing, accrediting, and regulatory agencies. Serves as a nutrition educator for students, medical staff, health professionals, and/or general public.

This position will serve in a PRN capacity. The ideal candidate will be available to work regular weekends and holidays as well as weekdays for weekend and/or vacation coverage.

A registration eligible individual has a maximum of six (6) months from date of employment to become registered through the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensed by the Kentucky Board of Dietitians and Nutritionists. Failure to comply with this deadline will result in termination of employment.



Physical Requirements

The physical requirements for this position include: regularly standing/walking with objects up to 10lbs, regularly sitting at a computer work station for extended periods of time (includes repetitive motions).

Research

In fiscal year 2016, the University of Kentucky was awarded $316.5 million in external grants and contracts.
