Up to Six (6) Fixed-term positions in mathematics and statistics at the University of Sydney.

About the opportunity

As a result of research funding success, the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Sydney is looking to appoint up to 6 fixed-term postdoctoral research associates over the next few months to support the following projects:

1.            Inverse Problems with Partial Data and Probing the Earth and the Universe with Microlocal Analysis, Dr Leo Tzou Ref 2640/1218F

Postdoctoral Research Associate / Research Fellow in Inverse Problems in PDE and/or Geometry Ref 2460/1218F 

2.            Nonlinear partial differential equations with anisotropy and singularities; Associate Professor Florica Cirstea: Ref 2462/1218F

Postdoctoral Research Associate / Research Fellow in Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations Ref 2462/1218F

3.            Billiards within confocal quadrics and beyond;  Dr Milena Radnovic: Ref 2491/1218F

Postdoctoral Research Associate / Research Fellow in Geometry and Dynamics Ref 2491/1218F 

4.            Geometric themes in the theory of Lie supergroups and their quantisations; Professor Ruibin

Zhang; Ref 1963/1018F

Postdoctoral Research Associate / Research Fellow in Lie Theory Ref 1963-1018F

About you

To succeed you will need to have skills and qualifications as outlined in the position description, including a PhD in mathematics. If appointed, you will be expected to undertake duties consistent with an appointment at Level A/B on the Australian academic scale, which corresponds to Associate professor in the US system, and Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the British system.

This will include publishing scholarly papers in international peer-reviewed journals and presenting at conferences as well as supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students. Teaching is not a required part of the positions, but teaching experience may be available if desired.
