Data and Business Analytics Specialist

Under general direction, the Principal Research Analyst I performs the highest level of data management, statistical analysis, and business decision guidance and reporting for the Office of Inclusive Excellence (OIE) as a Data and Business Analytics Specialist. Responsible for data collection, analysis and reporting, and curating and disseminating business analytics on institutional effectiveness regarding faculty and graduate student diversity, equity, and inclusion, related strategic plan metrics, program benchmarking, program evaluation, and other institutional indicators on campus climate, structural diversity, partnership connections, and UCI member inclusion. Incumbent develops and manages datasets from multiple campus and national sources, conducts analyses and presents on descriptive statistics, and on cross-sectional and longitudinal analyses. Organizes data reviews for planning and programmatic activities and decision making, develops desired reports for inclusive excellence accountability, and designs and disseminates meaningful analytics and infographics. Additionally, the incumbent designs all aspects of projects (e.g., data collection, analyses, interpreting results, and developing reports and other means for disseminating evidence and scholarship). The incumbent uses a variety of approaches and methods (quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods) for timely project completion to best meet diverse OIE data reporting needs: presents oral, written, and visual data for website, partner affinity groups, annual accountability, and program planning. Addresses professional development through ongoing and relevant training, reports priorities and achievements via campus-based productivity tools such as ACHIEVE, and remains current on cutting edge and innovative analytical approaches, tools and resources to in order to best assess diversity, equity, and inclusion related to UCI climate and individual member productivity. Supports projects as assigned to contribute analytical integrity and skills.
