Primary Function of Organization Unit: Campus Enterprises is NC State's lead division of retail and hospitality organizations ; University Dining, Wolfpack Outfitters, Trademark Licensing, Lonnie Poole Golf Course, University Student Centers (Witherspoon, Thompson, Price, and Talley), and the Wolfpack One Card Services. Each unit shares a common goal: deliver quality and efficient services with dedicated financial support for student services and scholarships. The primary purpose of the organization is to provide campus wide food services to students, staff, and faculty on the NC State University campus. University Dining operates four dining halls, two food courts, eight coffee shops, seven convenience stores, campus concessions, nutritional counseling centers, internal human resources, and catering department. The department employs approximately 500 temporary and student employees and over 140 SPA and EPA positions.
Essential Job Duties: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Food Service Technician in high volume food service environment while maintaining high quality standard for a designated dining facility that is located on the NC State Campus. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Assemble menu items following specific recipes established by NC State Dining, enhanced garnishing, recipe development and event meal assistance. * Set up and break down, replenish stock items cleaning/sanitizing of workstations as required by health and safety standard for the following stations, but not limited to beverage, ice cream machine, pizza and panini, salad bar, dish machine. * Train temporary employees and student employees to follow guidelines and procedures set by NC State Dining. * Assist with temperature logs, Cbord sheets, and line cards * Maintain Grade A (95) sanitation rating at all times. * Set up and close registers following cash handling procedures.
Department Required Skills: * Must be available to work evenings and weekends shifts. * Demonstrate excellent customer service skills * Must be able to read and write effectively, follow written and oral instructions * Must be able to read and follow recipes
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: * One year working experience in fast service restaurant environment * High school diploma or GED preferred
