Essential Job Duties: The primary role of this position is to provide administrative support and project coordination for the Friday Institute Associate Director. The position will work closely with the Associate Director to coordinate activities across a number innovative and engaging projects that strengthen the supports for high-performing teams and improve education systems in NC and beyond. The position will work with a diverse group of staff, faculty, students, and partners at the University and externally to ensure efficient and effective execution of projects. In addition to general administrative duties and helping coordinate research and extension projects, this position may provide support on projects in the following ways: * Collect, organize and review data and create spreadsheets, reports and other internal documents for staff to use to inform operational decisions, analyses and improvements * Coordinate with staff and faculty to support effective research team work-space design and reconfiguration in a large open-office environment * Plan travel arrangements and assist with events and meetings planning, including set-up and coordination The ideal candidate will be detail-focused and driven by opportunities to support teams to ensure high performance and execution. The ability to work across and switch between a number of projects, take initiative and learn new skills, and a highly collaborative, creative problem solving approach will be critical to success in this role.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Department Required Skills: The successful applicant must exhibit initiative, a high level of trust and confidentiality. This position requires an individual with strong interpersonal skills, and excellent communication skills. The individual must be self-motivated, highly organized, and have the ability to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment. Attention to detail is essential in this position. This candidate must also be self sufficient, a self starter and ready to learn. He/she must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines This candidate must be able to lift 25+lbs to assist in room set ups and small renovation projects

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Demonstrated experience in project management. 5 plus years administrative experience. Experience working with database and spreadsheet software; ability to collect and organize data Specific proficiency in Google Applications (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Hangouts, Meeting, Groups, etc.) as well Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Project, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Hangouts, Meeting, Groups, etc.) Knowledge of NC State travel and purchasing policies and procedures, a plus.
