The Mathematics, Engineering and Computer Science Department at LaGuardia Community College is seeking highly motivated and innovative candidates to fill a tenure-track position in Computer Science, at the Assistant Professor level.

Primary responsibilities for Assistant Professor of Computer Science will include teaching a range of computer science (including intro to programming, data structures, information security, web programming, and mobile app development) and math courses, if needed.

The successful candidate will participate in departmental, divisional, and college-wide initiatives, provide academic advisement and student guidance, and contribute to curricula and program development. Appropriate professional development, research and scholarly activities are also expected. 

    QUALIFICATIONS 
    Ph.D. in Computer Science / Computer Engineering or equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Expertise in cyber-security, or computer engineering technology, or mobile and web applications development is highly desirable. Prior teaching experience at the college level. Experience with curriculum development. Ability to teach successfully, experience in student mentorship and guidance, demonstrated scholarly achievement, and ability to collaborate with others.
