The Department of Music at the College of William and Mary is recruiting a pool of persons for the Fall and Spring semesters for possible adjunct teaching positions. This pool will be accessed when and only when an opening arises. Your credentials will remain active for one year after the date you submit them. After one year, if you are still interested, you must resubmit to this adjunct pool.
Candidates interested in future openings should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and a list of three references with contact information to our online system at If you have previously submitted an application for an instructional position at William and Mary via the online system, your existing application documents can be easily transferred to this position pool. Only those selected for an interview or for further consideration will be contacted. The College of William & Mary conducts background checks on applicants for employment.

Required Qualifications

Appropriate qualifications (for example, Ph.D., D.M.A., M.A. or M.M) in Musicology, Ethnomusicology, Music Theory, Music Composition, Conducting, or Music Performance are required depending on the position open. Qualification or experience in a closely related field as reflected on the candidate’s CV may also be considered.
