The Department of Surgery, Division of Pediatrics has an opening for a full-time, Assistant Professor position.

The pediatric surgeon position has responsibility for being a member of the Pediatric Surgery group at Children's Colorado. Primary clinical duties will be performed at Children's Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado and Children's Colorado North Campus in Broomfield, Colorado. Duties in this faculty position include: teaching, clinical (including call coverage), and service responsibilities. Specific responsibilities are as follows: engaging in all clinical programs in a fashion that promotes surgical care of children, participating in academic activities within the Division and Department of Surgery, and participating in lectures and conferences for residents, students, fellows, and staffing residents at Children's Hospital Colorado.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree from an accredited school of medicine
  • Board certified in in surgery with special competence in pediatric surgery
  • Demonstrated proficiency in pediatric surgery clinical, educational, and research efforts
  • Ability to communicate clearly as a member of a team
  • Current license to practice as a physician in the state of Colorado with prescriptive privileges
  • Completion of an accredited Pediatric Surgery Fellowship or equivalent training

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in an academic clinical environment is preferred
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in basic or clinical research
  • Programmatic development and expansion experience
