Chief of Radiology

Job Summary

The Department of Radiology has an opening for a full-time faculty member to serve as Chief of the Section of Pediatric Radiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and as Chief of Radiology at Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO). The Section has 23 pediatric radiologists working throughout the CHCO Network of Care. This network includes two freestanding Children's Hospitals serving a seven-state region with a third hospital opening in 2019 for a total of 580 inpatient beds. The pediatric radiology section performs 187,000 exams per year with subspecialized expertise in MSK, cardiac, neuro, fetal and interventional radiology. An Advanced Imaging Lab supports radiology research by faculty and affiliated staff. The CHCO Network of Care is consistently rated in the top 10 Children's Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report and Denver continues to be one of the best places to live in the United States.

Duties

The successful candidate will lead our pediatric radiology practice. Responsibilities include managing the faculty and workload of the section, including hiring, supervision, mentorship and performance evaluation. Ongoing maintenance of and future planning for imaging resources including the expansion of interventional radiology, growth of outpatient imaging, and incorporation of the new hospital will require successful interaction with the CHCO staff and administration. Oversight of the Advanced Imaging Lab and radiology research will require coordination with the CHCO Research Institute and the Department of Radiology.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications




Candidates should be ABR certified in diagnostic radiology with a Certificate of Additional Qualification in pediatric radiology. Applicants must be eligible for academic appointment as associate or full professor at The University of Colorado School of Medicine.

Required Competencies




Candidates should have experience in supervision and mentorship of medical faculty in an academic environment. The applicant should have a history of working successfully in multidisciplinary teams that include physicians, hospital staff and administrators. In addition, the applicant should have experience in teaching at the graduate level and a history of peer reviewed publications.

Preferred Qualifications




The ideal candidate is a full professor with extensive clinical experience, a demonstrated research focus in a subspecialty area of pediatric radiology, an established national reputation, and excellent leadership skills.
