Job Summary:

The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Neurology, has an opening for a full-time Assistant Professor to provide clinical care for patients with headaches as well as general neurological disorders at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora CO. The position will include clinical, research, service and limited teaching. Clinical responsibilities include participation in the outpatient headache clinic, the outpatient general neurology clinic and inpatient neurology attending service. Competitive start-up packages including protected time for serious academic development and research will be provided. The Department of Pediatrics Section of Child Neurology is nationally recognized for providing outstanding consultation, clinical care, and surgery for children and adolescents with neurological disorders. USNWR ranked Child Neurology as one of the top 20 programs in the nation.



Examples of Work Performed

• Outpatient evaluation of children with Neurological Disorders
  
• On-going follow-up care both in clinic and by phone, for neurology patients
  
• Participation in the Integrative Headache Clinic, Headache Clinic and other headache initiatives.
  
• Collaboration of patient care with staff neurologists as appropriate
  
• Teaching clinical care concepts to NP's, PA's, Residents and RNs.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this position is and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Medical Degree
  
• Board Eligibility in Neurology with a Special Competence in Child Neurology
  

Condition of Employment:

• Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
  
• Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check
  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to collaborate with the medical team to provide the highest quality of care to patients and their families.
• Ability to diagnose and treat patients with neurological diagnoses.
  
• Knowledge and desire to specialize in headache diagnoses and treatment.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Board Certified in Neurology with a Special Competence in Child Neurology.
• Current DEA
  
• Background in headache treatment
