Job Summary: The successful candidate will
TEACH:
-courses in fashion design and construction
-textile sciences
ADVISE
-undergraduate and graduate students
ENGAGE
-students in design competitions, research projects, technology, student professional development, and global studies
RESEARCH
-develop or continue a program of research/scholarship in the area of fashion design and textiles using technology, disseminate scholarly work through peer-reviewed journals and other outlets, seek external funding through proposal writing
OUTREACH
-participate in community projects, training sessions, presentations and other opportunities involving the citizens of Oklahoma.

The Department of Design, Housing and Merchandising invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. Start date is August 2018.
The Department of Design, Housing and Merchandising is one of four academic units in the College of Human Sciences. The department is home to CIDA accredited Interior Design, AAFA endorsed Fashion Design and Production and a vibrant Fashion Merchandising program.

Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma is a member of the Big-12 Conference. In the Southwest region the OSU programs are ranked first and second respectively among fashion design and merchandising schools. The fashion design program ranks sixth nationally among public schools and colleges offering fashion design. We offer both undergraduate and graduate programs, including an online MS degree in Retail Merchandising Leadership.

Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in Fashion Design or a related discipline. Proven effectiveness in teaching and research is required. Candidates must also be prepared to help lead strategic initiatives in in leadership in sustainability, technology applications and global education.

Hiring Range:(Contingent upon available funding): 5,334.00 - 5,834.00, Salary
