Augusta University (formerly Medical College of Georgia) seeks Psychiatrist through an Academic Partnership.
With expanding programs and financial stability, the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at Augusta University now seeks an Assistant Professor as a BC/BE general psychiatrist to lead the expansion of the public psychiatry partnership with the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. Position will manage medical and clinical care at East Central Regional Hospital-Augusta (located only five miles from the medical school campus), an Augusta University teaching facility with a 90-bed psychiatric facility and 71 forensic beds. Position will enhance teaching throughout the department by expanding the Augusta University presence and enhancing core didactic and residency practical instruction in psychiatry and psychology.
Teaching components include oversight of medical and nursing students, psychiatry residents, forensic and psychotic disorders fellows and psychology interns. Additional educational and clinical research opportunities constitute a significant portion of each position's time. Candidates will also be expected to contribute to activities related to public policy and regulation of psychiatry and psychology in the state of Georgia. The successful candidate will be approved to the academic faculty at Augusta University at a rank commensurate with experience and previous academic achievements.
Minimum Requirements
MD, DO, MBBS degree, general psychiatry residency.
GA Physician license
This department will support Conrad 30 J-1 Visa Waivers, H1B visas and sponsorship of Green Cards.
