The Position

Lewis University invites applications for an Assistant Director of Veteran Affairs & Recruitment.  The Assistant Director will be responsible for managing the recruitment, transition, retention and special needs of our military population and their dependents. The Assistant Director will also serve as the point person for military and collaborate with key staff within admission, academic advising, financial aid, student services and registrar, etc. to ensure their smooth transition and progress toward graduation. This individual will lead efforts to recruit and attract a growing number of military to Lewis across all academic programs.  Lewis University serves a diverse student population and community and we invite applications from individuals that embody a commitment to diversity.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of five years demonstrated experience in working with the military. Experience in higher education preferably related to Admission, Student Services, and Enrollment Management highly desirable. Excellent human relations skills, with the ability to foster continuous and open communication to achieve desired results. Exceptional verbal and networking skills. The ability to build relationships and network on campus, in business, community and academic environments. Resilience/ability to both lead and embrace change in an ever-changing environment of higher education.  Master’s degree preferred.
