The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of adult and pediatric liver and kidney transplantation, hepatobiliary surgery, pancreas transplantation, live donor liver/kidney surgery, deceased donor procurement, laparoscopic donor nephrectomy and hepatic lobectomy. Responsibilities include clinical duties in these areas; teaching of medical students, surgical residents and transplant fellows; and research in the noted specialties and/or associated scientific fields. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Surgery or hold equivalent international certification.

Strong experience with, and an interest in, basic and/or translational research will be required, with a concentration in transplant immunology and/or molecular biology preferred. The clinical practice for this position will be focused at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, with secondary duties at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
