Primary Function of Organization Unit: The Music Department is located in ARTS NC STATE, a unit of the Division of Academic and Student Affairs. Music offers both a music minor with emphases in Liberal Arts, History, Theory and Composition, and Performance, and an Arts Entrepreneurship minor for students seeking an entrepreneurial career in the arts or art-related industries. Approximately 1800 students are served annually through academic music classes and for-credit performance ensembles.
Essential Job Duties: The Music Department at North Carolina State University seeks applications for applied music teachers in all instrument areas to provide individual instruction for students who register for applied lessons. Responsibilities include teaching 13 weekly, 45-minute lessons per student and participation in end-of-semester juried exams. This position is part-time; time commitment is determined by the number of assigned students and compensation is commensurate with experience, qualifications, and assigned number of students.
Minimum Education/Experience: Master's degree or Bachelors degree and significant professional experience.
