Position Summary: The Kenan-Flagler Business School, located at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is a top 20 ranked professional business school. Kenan-Flagler offers a range of professional and academic degree programs, including an undergraduate degree in Business (BSBA); an MBA program delivered in five different methods (full-time, evening, weekend, on-line, global); a dual degree program with Tsinghua University; a Master of Accounting (MAC) degree delivered in two different methods (full-time and on- line); and a PhD program. Beyond its degree programs, Kenan-Flagler also directs and maintains the Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise, which is the outreach and research arm of the School, and the Executive Development Program, which houses its nationally-ranked executive education programs. Kenan-Flagler Business School enrolls over 2,500 students annually in its programs and lives/operates by its core values of excellence, leadership, integrity, community and teamwork. As a member of the Instructional Services, Design and Innovation team, the Instructional Designer will be responsible for providing technical consultation, design, and development assistance to faculty and teaching staff across the Kenan-Flagler Business School. They will assist in the application of design thinking and the use of instructional technology tools in the delivery of online and blended instruction for multiple degree programs. This position will directly support faculty and teaching staff in creating and designing instructional materials and instructional strategies while incorporating best practices and sound pedagogy. They will assist faculty and teaching staff in course development needs for the Learning Management System, rich media, mobile and web-based assessment systems, distance collaboration, and related technological teaching tools. They will keep abreast of and develop expertise in emerging learning and technologies. They will be a resource for new teaching approaches that facilitate and encourage greater student interaction and engagement. This position will also work with senior academic faculty on learning assessments and outcomes.

Education Requirements: A minimum of Master's Degree in instructional design, educational technology or related academic discipline.

Qualification and Experience: -3+ years experience working directly with academic faculty and teaching staff in the development of classroom and online courses -Excellent presentation, writing and customer service skills. The ability to communicate effectively with and to provide world-class support to Kenan-Flagler faculty is critical to success in this position. -Solid working knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) such as Canvas, Moodle or Sakai -Comprehensive knowledge of current instructional theories and practices applicable to learning technologies -Ability to use a wide variety of multimedia technologies to support faculty instruction -Ability to advise faculty in the design, development and implementation of technology that supports and enhances instruction and learning -Experience providing training, workshops, and support to faculty and students -Knowledge of multimedia and graphic design; Specifically proficient with adobe illustrator -Occasional domestic and international travel required
