Position Summary: The Associate Director for Residential Living provides strategic vision and leadership then ensures implementation of the recruitment, selection, hiring processes for all full-time and student staff positions offered through Residential Education. The Associate Director also actively leads procedures supporting student conduct and care within the department. This individual also coordinates and directs departmental responses to high-level student crisis and conduct issues. The Associate Director for Residential Living directly supervises the areas of Student Staff Recruitment and Student Behavior. The position is also responsible for the leadership of approximately 8-10 full time Community Directors and 120 student employees. The successful candidate will demonstrate a vibrant passion for serving diverse student populations, be committed to student well-being and personal growth and have exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills. The Associate Director for Residential Living is a member of the Caroling Housing Leadership Team, actively participating in departmental vision, strategic planning and decision-making. A critical and fundamental element of this role, the successful candidate will successfully and actively engage in developing key partnerships within Student Affairs and the University to develop and align our programmatic initiatives and student opportunities with the University academic mission. The position reports to the Senior Director of Residential Education for Carolina Housing.

Education Requirements: A Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, or related degree.
Qualification and Experience: A minimum of five to seven years of full-time professional experience post Master's degree completion and demonstrated progressive experience with leadership and supervision. Preferred qualifications include experience with managing multiple processes for recruitment, on-boarding, evaluative metrics, student conduct management, as well as in-depth knowledge of Housing related systems such as StarRez, Maxient, and ERezLife; - Demonstrated initiative and ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team; - Understanding of accessibility, diversity, and inclusion needs; - Demonstrated leadership and effectiveness in promoting respect and appreciation for diversity and pluralism among students and staff; - Demonstrated experience using technology in the delivery of student programs; - Demonstrated commitment to working within an innovative environment that is focused on the education of individuals and groups of college students within a residential setting through the development of cohesive residential communities and other leadership initiatives.
