This posting will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers for the College of Arts & Media Department of Music & Entertainment Industry Studies. Candidates hired from this pool will fill temporary, non-tenure track positions and will teach no more than two courses per semester. Appointments will be part-time (less than 50%) and will be made semester-by-semester, depending on the needs of the department. Therefore, this posting does not necessarily reflect a current open position.

Lecturers in the must department conduct college-level courses in music & performance related fields. Lecturers are responsible for the preparation and scheduling of weekly applied lessons, and to prepare students for performance juries and recitals.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Candidates should have knowledge in one of the four degree areas of the department (music business, recording arts, singer/songwriter and performance) with an area of specialization within these disciplines. Candidates should also have a successful record of teaching at the undergraduate level, with positive student evaluations. The ideal candidate will also have close connections with organizations within their field and can bring these connections into the classroom setting and develop long-term experiential opportunities for students.

Minimum Requirements

Master's degree in related music or music performance field. Significant professional industry experience may substitute for the degree.

Preferred Requirements

Experience teaching in a higher education environment. Experience in online education preferable.

Benefits and Salary:
Salary depends on the number of credit hours per class and ranges from $1,265 to $4,217 per course.
