Lecturer

This posting will establish and maintain a pool of part-time lecturers with experience teaching general Philosophy courses, such as the Introduction to Philosophy: Relationship of the Individual to the World, Introduction to Ethical Reasoning, Logic, Language, and Scientific Reasoning, Ideology and Culture: Racism and Sexism and courses within their area of expertise, for the Department of Philosophy in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver. Lecturers may be asked to teach on campus or fully online.

By submitting your application, you will become part of an applicant pool. Candidates hired from this pool will fill temporary, non-tenure track positions and will teach no more than two courses per semester. Appointments will be part-time (less than 50%) and will be made semester-by-semester, depending on the needs of the department and subject to budgetary approval. Therefore, this posting does not necessarily reflect a current open position. This Lecturer recruitment pool is anticipated to remain continuously active.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Prior experience teaching Philosophy courses is preferred. Prior experience teaching online using the Canvas LMS is preferred for online and/or hybrid course teaching.

Minimum Requirements

Master's degree in Philosophy or related field. If the M.A. is in a related field, a minimum of 18 hours of graduate course work in Philosophy are required.
