Virtual Care Physician (Instructor)

Nature of Work:

The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is currently recruiting physicians with acute care experience (including family practice and hospitalists) to staff UCHealth's innovative Virtual Health Center. Providers will work full time delivering acute, episodic, unscheduled virtual care across UCHealth. Examples include evaluating patients in the Virtual Urgent Care, responding to virtual sepsis alerts, and providing virtual physician support to clinical sites across UCHealth, and to outside partners such as correctional care and skill nursing facilities.

Examples of Work Performed:

Possess a strong dedication to the delivery of high-quality virtual care through a number of care modalities including video visits, remote surveillance, telephone encounters, and secure messaging.

Responsibilities also include:

  1. Participate in the rotating Sick Call coverage schedule per departmental scheduling policy or participating practice site, if applicable.
  2. Complete necessary CME per departmental and/or practice site guidelines.
  3. Committee membership as needed by the Department on an ad hoc basis.


Salary and Benefits:

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate will have completed an emergency medicine, family medicine, or an internal medicine residency and will be board prepared or certified by their respective Medical College or Board.

Competencies/ Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • The successful candidate will have demonstrated potential for outstanding clinical performance in a virtual care environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of post-residency clinical experience with direct patient care within an acute care environment such as the Emergency Department, Urgent Care, or as an inpatient Hospitalist.
