The Division of Cardiology has an opening for a full-time Professional Research Assistant to work within the Consortium for Fibrosis Research and Translation (CFReT) at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora.
Research position in a cell and molecular biology laboratory. Research in the lab focuses on molecular mechanisms of tissue fibrosis. A majority of pre-clinical models of heart failure or animal models of cardiovascular diseases are used to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of disease.
The individual hired into this position will report to Dr. Maria Cavasin, Instructor of the Fibrosis Innovation Group in the CFReT.
Examples of Work Performed
Duties will involve maintaining a mouse colony, small animal surgery, animal dosing and echocardiographic analysis of cardiac function in rodents.

- BA/BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or similar, is required. A BS in vet science or vet tech would be preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- The individual will be required to accurately record and interpret data, perform basic statistical analyses, and be knowledgeable in word processing and spreadsheets.
- Prior experience with mouse and rat studies is highly desirable
